There could be no better title to the first blog post on the CarraGreen website.
Every sustainable business is built on a core philosophy, and in our case – the company is wholly modelled on the concept of global sustainability. Our sole business intent is to provide affordable eco-friendly products that can replace single use plastics that are presently being used in production of spoons and boxes.
Our company is based out of the cleanest city of India, Indore, A city that has held the coveted spot for 5 years in a row.Being a proud Indori, we are very proud of our city and what we, the citizens of Indore, have collectively achieved.
The result of everyone working towards the common goal can be seen in our city’s achievement. And so at Carragreen we decided to create products that can be used by people who want to contribute towards a greener,cleaner and healthier planet earth.
The primary culprits that we could perceive were the non-degradable elements. A significant chunk of this is single-use plastics. With many options available for replacing the plastic grocery bags, we observed there are only a handful of companies that have focused on production of eco-friendly spoons and packaging boxes.
What’s the alternative – our minds pondered! – That curious mind naturally wandered to Youtube, and some simple searches led us to the world of eco-friendly utensils. This got us excited and we wanted to be a part of this global crusade against plastic pollution.
The first few questions that cropped up in our fertile minds were – Are eco-friendly spoons and packaging materials readily available here? Are they affordable for the ordinary person living in India or, for that matter, any other part of the world? The answer was and still is a big no.
Something had to be done, and it had to be done promptly. Hence the think tank of Carrageen sprung into action, our relentless efforts soon led to the development of eco-friendly stationery, the nuts and bolts of which we would be getting into our upcoming blog posts. What started with stationary has now been extended to biodegradable spoons and boxes.
