She is the driving force behind Carragreen’s mission. She oversees marketing, finance, and manufacturing, combining technical precision with a strong sustainability vision.
Surabhi’s journey from an idea incubated at IIM Bangalore and IIM Indore to a nationally recognized eco-startup reflects her belief that innovation and responsibility can go hand in hand.
A designer at heart and a yoga enthusiast, she finds balance in both her work and life — embodying the harmony that Carragreen strives to bring to the world.
Chetna Shah
A connoisseur of art and craft
She brings her creative flair and deep understanding of design to Carragreen. With hands-on experience in the bakery and culinary world, she has mastered the art of blending aesthetics with functionality.
At Carragreen, Chetna leads product development and customer insight, ensuring every creation is both innovative and meaningful. Known for her inventive spirit and love for cooking, she adds a personal touch of creativity to everything she does — from eco-friendly designs to delightful food recipes.

Story
Carragreen was born from one such idea: to create sustainable alternatives that make eco-friendly living accessible to everyone.
Our journey began when Surabhi Shah, coming from a family with over 35 years of experience in manufacturing paper packaging for the food industry, decided to take sustainability a step further. With creativity in her heart and purpose in her mind, she envisioned a world where everyday products wouldn’t harm the planet. Her idea — to design cost-effective, biodegradable, and compostable products — was selected among the Top 100 Startup Ideas in India (out of 6000 entries) under the Women Startup Program at IIM Bangalore. With IIM Indore as her incubation center, Surabhi transformed her vision into reality — and Carragreen took root. Alongside her stands Chetna Shah, co-founder and pillar of strength, whose creative insight and experience help Carragreen grow organically — like nature itself.
